Carpmaels & Ransford LLP is a leading and progressive firm providing services in all areas of intellectual property.
As well as servicing a number of multinational companies and household names, they have a proven track record of assisting new businesses and start-ups to create an IP portfolio of real value by providing a tailored service and pragmatic, commercially focussed advice. Carpmaels and Ransford support the burgeoning start-up scene in London, most notably with monthly patentability clinics in Tech City, which have been running for well over a year. They also have links to tech transfer and enterprise departments in several of the capital’s universities, offering IP advice and education to researchers and young spin-off companies. Experience with these initiatives has taught that participants to the IP workshop will come with a diverse array of specific interests within the broad topic of IP. For some, protection of their brand is paramount, whilst others need help understanding how to begin protecting their technological innovations. Practical pointers to help avoid common pitfalls are always welcome; esoteric legal theory is not.
Paul Bettridge and Roger Lush are two of the senior professionals within Carpmaels and Ransford.
